Did you know? Tuesday Trivia!

Our Name that Member! feature gave us the opportunity to learn just how well we really know each other. But how well do we know our church?

Here’s this week’s Did you know? Tuesday Trivia!

What was the Minister’s salary in 1893?

A) $1,000

B) $1,250

C) $3,000

Answer:

A) The Minister’s salary in 1893 was $1,000 annually, but in September of that year the trustees’ minutes indicate that only $900 for the year was available, so Rev. J. F. Young stated he would resign. The minutes do not indicate what action was taken, but he apparently reconsidered for he remained as pastor until 1896, in spite of the fact that in 1895 his salary was reduced to $850.00
