Returning to In-Person Worship

Yes we're open

Beginning Sunday, February 6

After careful consideration, the Session has voted to re-open the Sanctuary to an in-person worship option beginning Sunday February 6, 2022.

We closed in January due to the recent surge in Covid infections in our area, and are glad to see that number beginning a downturn. We will continue to offer the livestream worship service for any who are not healthy or not yet comfortable coming in-person. It is our strong recommendation that everyone continue to wear masks while in the church building, and KN95 masks will be available at the entry doors if you need one.

The nursery will re-open as well, and Confirmation class will resume on February 6. Sunday School class will not be held that day because of communion but will resume February 13.

However, the Fellowship hour following our worship service, with coffee and treats, has been discontinued for the time being. Thank you for your understanding.

We hope to see everyone in-person or virtually via our Facebook Livesteam on Sunday mornings at 10am!

APCE 2022 Conference

Presbyterian Church Educators

Pastor Katie Estes and Director of Children, Youth & Family Ministries, Joel Morien, will both be attending the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators annual conference in Chicago early this month.

Katie has been a member of APCE for all of her ministry and attends this conference each year. She has served in several elected capacities for the organization, and currently sits on their Governance Ministry Team. Katie looks forward to re-connecting with colleagues from all over the country, sharing in the worship and fellowship, and attending several workshops.

Joel has never attended the conference and looks forward to his first time, networking with other youth and children’s ministry leaders and taking workshops in those areas. They will have stories to tell when they return!

Youth Group Triennium Meeting

February 20th

Youth Triennium 2022

Attention all families of high school youth!

The Presbyterian Youth Triennium 2022 is scheduled to take place in Indianapolis, IN July 24-27 and although that may seem far away, our Christian Education Committee has planning underway. This once every three-year event is a gathering of High School age youth, youth leaders and young adults in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Cumberland Presbyterian Churches. It’s a life-changing opportunity for youth across the country to gather in worship, learning and fellowship. Youth from First Presbyterian in Green Bay have attended this event for years and bring back glowing reports.

All incoming ninth graders through graduating seniors in 2022 are eligible to attend with us. We will also be accepting applications for a limited number of young adult and adult mentors.

If you’re interested in attending Triennium, please join us for an informational meeting that will take place in Banner Hall on February 20 following worship. We’ll discuss travel dates, cost, fundraising opportunities and much more.

If you’re unable to join us for the meeting but are interested in attending, please contact Joel Morien for more information at ce@firstpresgreenbay.org
