October 25, 2026 – Reformation Sunday – “Who’ll Be A Witness?”
Overview
On Reformation Sunday, October 25, the congregation gathered at 10:00 a.m. to reflect on the faith handed down through generations and the call to be witnesses. Worship opened with a call to worship and prayer of the day centered on awe and God’s watchful care, followed by the hymn “Our God, Our Help in Ages Past.” The confession acknowledged how easily minds and lips stay closed, and the words of assurance renewed the congregation in God’s grace. Music included the anthem “Help Us Accept Each Other,” the hymn “More Love To Thee, O Christ,” and the closing hymn “May God Support You All Your Days.”
Pastor Katie Estes preached “Who’ll Be A Witness?” from Luke 24:44–48, where the risen Christ opens the disciples’ minds to the Scriptures and sends them out as witnesses. The day also marked Pastor Appreciation Sunday, and the congregation celebrated Pastor Katie during Fellowship Hour. Afterward, the Fourth Sunday Forum offered a look at end-of-life planning, with Pastor Katie speaking about funeral and memorial decisions and Hospice Chaplain Gina Struensee sharing what hospice care can offer.
October 18, 2026 – “Imago Dei”
Overview
On October 18, 2026, First Presbyterian Church in Green Bay gathered for worship, and Katie Estes brought the message “Imago Dei.” Drawing on Matthew 22:15-22, she reflected on Jesus’ question, “Whose head is this, and whose title?” The Acts 10:34-43 reading added a reminder that God shows no partiality. Together the congregation considered whose image we bear and what it means to give back to God what is God’s. The service included the hymns “O God in Whom All Life Begins,” “God, Whose Giving Knows No Ending,” and “To God Be the Glory,” along with a Time with the Children led by Joel Morien.
We were grateful to worship with everyone who gathered, in the sanctuary and online. Our second Faith, Fun & Fellowship (Sunday School) also met during worship, and children explored the topic of communion. If you missed the service or want to revisit the message, we hope this recording encourages you in the week ahead. All are welcome at First Presbyterian Church, and we would love to worship with you soon.
