November 1, 2026 – All Saints’ Day – “Faith Practiced, Not Preserved”
Overview
On Sunday, November 1, 2026, we gathered for our All Saints’ Sunday and Communion worship service. During a time of remembrance accompanied by J.S. Bach’s “Sarabande” performed on the cello by Elliott Stenson, we honored the lives of Gene Reynolds and Melvin Collins and invited the congregation forward to light candles in memory of loved ones who have died. Worship music was led by organist Michael Raught and pianist Ross Early, featuring the anthem “Ubi Caritas” by John Purifoy and traditional hymns including “For All the Saints,” “The Trumpets Sound, the Angels Sing,” and “Rejoice in God’s Saints”.
Pastor Katie Estes delivered the sermon, “Faith Practiced, Not Preserved,” rooted in the Gospel reading from John 21:15-17. Centering on Christ’s call to feed his lambs and tend his sheep, the service included a Generosity Moment, the dedication of our offerings toward community outreach, and the Sacrament of Communion. Following the postlude, the congregation gathered in Banner Hall and the Fellowship Room for a Generosity Luncheon hosted by the Generosity Team.
